i have 8 dempsey juvies and i want to eventually wind up with one breeding pair. Couple questions. i know how to sex them already but how do i pick the sucessful pair when they are ready. anything i can do to speed growth and the process?

If you want them to grow fast, feed them often, and change their water often also....... They should pair up on their own if they choose to... you should be able to tell when that happens.

and i suppose i will just know they are a pair? I only want the pair i will be getting rid of the rest

the pair will be the ones with full fins...

the others with out...

trust me you'll know...

You will see them hanging out together most of the time... sometimes flaring at each other and rubbing against each other.
