As you can see there is a large white spot on his head. I didnt notice the spot this morning or when i got home from class. I took a 2 hour nap and woke up and saw it immediatly. As a percaution, i have raised tank temp to 82, added some Jungle Parasite Clear, and increased water flow for the UV. I have noticed him and the loaches scratching their bodies at times, but no visible spots have shown up on any of them till this one on the shark. I know its not ich or i doesnt look like it, but with the scratching im assuming its some type of parasite. Medicines i have on hand are Pimafix, Parasite clear, and melafix.

water stats are fine
150 GH
300 KH
7.2 PH
0 Nitrite
20 Nitrate

its neither a hole or a lump. he is swimming around and acting normal. It has turned a little blue around the edges so thats a good sign that color is returning. I think he just scratched it or got heater burn.

Patches like that can be due to parasites or bacterial infections columnaris, any red circling around it, or a red spot in the centre, is the patch fluffy looking.

it doesnt look puffer or sunken at all. It looks almost like natural if you didnt know it wasnt. I treated tank with parasite clear as a percaution as previousl stated. Guess thats all i can do for now and see if it clears. Like i said spot got there in less than 2 hours time.

In the pic he looks more grey than black, any excess mucas on the body or gills.

he has always been more of a bluish black color, the flash makes him look a little lighter than he is.. I have had him for a long time now, and i can usually tell when he is sick from his red fins. But they are bright as ever and he is showing off and playing as normal.

The Rainbow sharks are all a greyer shade than the RTBS. It's natural (as too is the anal fins and on some the pelvic fins changing from red to black as the fish matures). That is perfectly natural Wilder.

Looks like a knock, or if it has been there a while, it could be a scar. My bala sharks are always carrying knocked scales that look very similar to that (though less prominent due to the silver colouration).

just an update, its almost all gone now, its now only a small light grey spot so im assuming he wasnt sick but burned it on heater. :D he does swim pretty wreckless through thick bunched plants at times so he might miss calculated his depature haha
