As title describes - the Uber Lights! - holy cow MH is crazy bright!

Getting the skimmer tomorrow and then i think i'm done with the hardware.

Looking good! What K are the lights? They look very blue, are they 20K or are they supplimented with Actinics?

they look like th xm 20k bulbs.

dont worry, after about a month they will burn to a more mellow blue, my did.

I forgot to mention the wall behind is royal blue so that's why the whole room is soooooo blue.

You have no lip on your tank, and it is very highly filled. You might find that your fish will jump, or your snails will crawl with the water level that high. Either make a lip for the tank out of acrylic (at least an inch on all sides) Or drop the water level by an inch or so.

Also with no covers you will get alof of evaporation. Ok, so covers block out some of the light, but im sure you can work something out that will help.

Do not cover the tank, it stops gas exchange which is a critical factor to reefs.


The best temporary solution for making sure no fish/snails get out, buy some eggcrate from Home Depot or Lowes (or any home improvement warehouse/store) and cover your tank.
