Photographers - Lets See Your Gear

Here is some Nikon porn. :fun:

I took this picture on my trusty D40 with the scabby built in flash.

Dave.

NICE! is that a TC infront of your camera? Also what lens is that next to the 70-200 mate?

I notice some of you have more than one flash gun, I'm just curious do they have different uses or have you simply just upgraded?

I've never really considered buying a flashgun as the majority of my photos are taken outside,

edit: I'll try and get around to posting a pic of my setup later on, but you probably won't be interested anyway as i'm a canon fan

You can use multiple flashes wirelessly for lighting from different angles, hence more than one. I image Canon have a similar set-up.

The TC is the Nikkor x 1.7, and the unidentified lens is the Nikkor 105mm f2.8 micro.

I also use Lee filters ND grads from time to time, and have a Manfrotto 055 XPRO B tripod with a 488RC4 ball head.

The 5mp camera on the N95 isn't too bad tbh, I have that phone too :)

Here is a Selection of the Camera's I get to play With. My Dad's Been a Photographer for over 30 years now. The Expensive Camera's I dont get to touch, only see them when he cleans them(like Very Old Leica, RollieFlex(Fold out), Box Camera with Cape, Etc).

I Tend to use my Nikon D70S for most of the pix I take.

lol that tall lens very familiar mate, I assume an APO version...?

BTW you lot are on the dark side lol me Canon

It is the APO glass version yes, and we are NOT on the dark side, were on the better side :)

My brother uses a new cannon and i don't like it one bit :p

andrew

I was only teasing really :p I must admit I have never been overly happy with my Canon I moved from an 8700 and this was a stunning camera but just sooo slow, poor autofocus and very bad noise above 200.

Still need a telephoto lens, will probably get a Sigma 55-200mm.

I have this lens and it is very sharp. I also have the 70-300 APO and there is not a lot between them really. The 55-200 is sharper at the long end but the 70-300 is a very nice lens and more durable, and has a great dedicated macro function. Looking on POTN people have used this lens with an extension ring to produce some stunning macro shots of dragonfly's in flight etc.. Just need lots of sun to get the best out of it.
