photo of pregnant plattie

I'm trying to figure out if my platties are pregnant or if they're not compatible to each other because of colours.
Does anyone have a photo of a pregnant plattie. I don't think mines due - there's no gravid spot and both the fm's are just a little fat looking. BUt it would be a lot easier to figure out if I had a photo to compare it to.

If anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated!!!

Both my fm platties that I already had (I just bought more) look exactly like that one. They're about that fat. and they've got the shading above the anal fin like that one so..

WOW.is that barb pregant?? that's what mine look like. One of them is that fat, if not fatter and the rest of the females (4 of them) are getting fat too. I think I've got 1 male so he'll be busy if they lay eggs.

I just got 5 more platties. My male that I already had was chasing the new female. posts said they were checking eachother out. BUt, i have just witnessed them mating, or attempting to.

It's like the real life. The male's trying to get it on and all the females interested in is getting something to eat
But seriously, the male's swimming side by side with the female and he's actually moving his 'thingy' forward and sideways to get near her 'thingy'

anyway. so judging by your photo, I think I've got 3 pregnant platties and a few pregnant tiger barbs, which would be very cool.
THat photo of the plattie, how pregnant is it. If mine look like that, have they got far to go?? They've looked kinda like that for about a week or so now.

I don't have them, but I'd like to get some. Are they good fish? do you like having them? Have you bred them?
I'm just starting with the whole breeding thing, but the platties, being so easy, are making it reall quite exciting.

swordtails and platty look very simular while pregnant. that platy in the picture gave birth about a week later.

i have 2 sword tails in my community tank male an female of corse. the female could be pregnent if that is what they look like when pregnent

i think that there great fish very fun to watch and the male looks really good with its tail

i havent bred them yet but fingers crossed.
