Jsut checked tap water and its about 5ppm.
Its normally 2-2.5 ppm in the tank when i test (doesnt really match a blue but its close).
The other day it dropped to 1ppm so I dosed.
This could be causing the cloudiness? specially when i add other ferts???

Thoughts........?

I keep reading other people's problems with cloudiness, and specifically I just read about someone having problems when they add Plantex CSM... their theory that it reacts with the phosphate in the water...

I know definitely that my problem was related the phosphates. Maybe I'll try holding CSM and dosing phosphates and see if i still get cloudiness.

What plantex CSM, I dont dose that, but maybe I have somthing similar.

Dont mix macro and micro dosing this can sometimes cause problems, this is why its normally recommended to dose both of them on different days, macros one day micros the next day, a well known issue that can cause cloudiness is usually to do with the dosing of phosphate and Fe or iron on the same day, you should dose iron on days you dose trace, some people have reported issues with the CSM causing cloudiness personally i have never experienced this and i have been dosing CSM for months now with no problems.

The cloudiness is more than likely to do with the fact you have just had some sort of algae bloom (green water) and it hasnt quite cleared yet and more than likely very little to do with your phosphate levels.

I dose Iron with trace.
Ill just leave it and see what happens.


Kamel_007, they are ultrabright blue LED's I bought off ebay. I have 10, 5 bottom up and 5 top down.

Im soon to be adding cold cathodes as well.
