The goldifsh shouldn't be in that size tank it will die before it able to get a tank it deserves.
No way will the filter keep up with the fish waste, they are massive waste producers.
Please listen and rehome the goldfish or get a bigger tank for it.

i think you should have posted this in the original thread, not sure the OP will read this thread

Why would you put a tropical fish in what's basically a spherical photo frame, when you have a 2 Gal aquarium sitting empty? & if you try to offer any advice you're being "mean" or "rude". Sometimes, there's no winning.

Some people just dont care about the quality of life they provide for their fish, after all they're "just fish" right? You can always go out and buy a new one if this one dies... ugh some people make me sick, it doesn't occur to them that maybe the fish have feelings too...

Brilliant.

As an active poster on a varied array of forums it becomes obvious that there are always people out there that simply look for threads to post so they can moan and complain.

I have a dog, hamsters, fish and a rabbit.

When my dog/hamsters die I will be very upset. When my fish die I stick them down the loo if they are big or bin then if they are small. As for the rabbit, I’ll crack open a bottle of something bubbly as I hate the smelly flea ridden thing (sorry Zo!!)

A dog will stay with me all day, sit on my lap and we can enjoy each others company. My fish just wait till feeding time. Yes I spend money on them, I’ve trained them to know where food is but they are fish and sadly I have been brought up to appreciate all animals just some more than others. My tank gets cleaned regularly, I separate fry to save them, I’ve spent 4 months trying to get my BN to breed which finally has happened but I still think a dog is more important than my fish?

If I found a dead dog in the road the RSPCA will investigate and probably involve the police.

If I found a bag of dead fish on the road are the RSPCA going to care?

He said right at the beginning he changes the Betta tank every 3-4 days, but of course, people read his first message and then post a reply without reading the rest of the thread. Then 3 or 4 people start chatting amongst themselves about how bad he is as a fish owner.

Get a life. If he wants to pour a bottle of bleach into each tank he can, we can't stop him? Post a message saying yes the tank might be small but it’s HIS choice, not yours?

Mate, the betta will probably die soon anyway, mine always do, but I guess that’s because I’m a bad fish owner. When he does stick him in the bin and get another one!!!

I’ll await all your snotty replies now, but like the original poster I’m not going to read them, instead I’ll get on with my life and enjoy my pets in the way I wish too.

Rant over………….

:grr:

how can people choose to keep a living creature and then be this heartless about its welfare!! :grr:   :-(

I'll agree with that person on a couple points...

1) I do love and care for my dogs/cat more than my fish. They're just easier and more rewarding pets, IMHO. However, that doesn't mean I neglect my fish. I provide them the absolute BEST care that I can and definitely don't think of them as disposable

2) The RSPCA probably doesn't care about fish whatsoever.

3) As much as any of us would like to, we can't control what others do with their fish or animals. The best any of us can do is try to educate others about proper fish care. And while it may be hard to not do it, insulting someone definitely will not help anything :(

i think its just sick, they don't listen t any of the advice given to them whatsoever

before i bought my fish a couple of months ago, i found this forum, and i posted a few threads on looking after the fish properly

i followed everthing you guys said to me, you grow on your fish, u get used to there personalitys and you accept them as part of your family, you have to care for them just like you would care for your family

and also, if i haven't a;lready said this lol

THANKYOU FOR EVERYBODY WHO HELPED ME WITH EVERYTHING!!! YOUR STARS! :hyper:

thanks

paul

I do agree this thread is pointless and disgusting, while you may feel compelled to tell the owner of said fish what your experience has been in the past it is ultimatly up to the op to take or disregard the info that you have passed on to them. ITS LIFE GET USED TO IT
