Fish Addict
Yesterday, I went to a local Petbarn and looked at the fish. I remembered where a few of them live in the wild i.e. neon tetras in the Amazon River, rummy-nose tetras in the Orinoco. I talked to the manager about having a biotope aquarium, which she never heard before. When she asked, 'how do I make a biotope aquarium?', I demonstrated her on how to make an accurate biotope aquarium: research the habitat you want to replicate, pick plants and fish that live in the area and mimic the environment via water pH and other stuff. When I mentioned the ember tetras' natural range, the Araguaia River in Brazil, I mispronounced the name of the river to 'Aripuana' and she thought I said 'piranha', and I had to say the river name clearly again to her. I tried remembering the actual name, which I didn't do very well. She thought I was going to purchasing fish, which I did not do. I was giving her common knowledge about where some common aquarium fish live in the wild. She said I was knowledgeable and I could work in a fish shop with that knowledge. It's all done from independent research and time. As I said to her, 'a biotope aquarium will make fish healthy and happier as it looks like it's their natural habitat in the wild'.
