I've had my Male Dwarf gourami now for just under a month. I have never had one before and he lives in a 12 gal with the female Krib I had to remove from my 30 gal, because she was bullied. They get on great and swim together when they think no one is watching ;) I couldn't help but notice that my Dwarf is a very voracious eater, and also full of personality! He is up and down the glass the minute the light comes on, and if anyone comes into the room. He waves his feelers up and down at you when you walk up to the tank, and waits impatiently at the surface for food every single time  . Compared to all my other fish he borders on the hyperactive! :hyper: I am not complaining of course, but is this a typical Dwarf gourami personality/behaviour? Or is mine just a little beserk? Here he is :

Are anyone else's like that behaviourwise?

It depends a bit on the dwarf. I have had dwarfs that were there the minute you threw the food in, and others which are more calm. My first dwarfs were dominated by my pearls and only bickered a bit among themselves.

The one I have currently is more of the 'noble' type; he is clearly the boss, but no great display. Just with some little movements and gestures he tells others not to get too close to him.
