Hi everyone!
I did some reading on the Beginner's Guide forum topic about Bacterial Blooms. I am assuming this is what is occurring in my tank, as the water is very cloudy regardless of filtration and aeration. I have a 10 gallon tank, with two platies, two balloon mollies, and two sparkling gouramis. My fish also recently had fry, so there is a fry cage with about 6 or 7 fry in my tank, about to be moved into a "nursery" tank. I have tried fasting my fish, vacuuming the gravel 2-3 times this week, and doing 30% water changes every other day (being sure to add Seachem Prime to the new water, as I have well water). But for some reason, this darn cloudiness just wont go away! I even added two ghost shrimp to keep the bottom of my tank clean. I don't want to solve this problem with Chemicals :( But 1. The cloudiness makes my tank look wretched, and 2. I can't imagine this is healthy for my poor fish.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to fix this problem? It's never happened before!

i have a 10g as well had same problem. i did water changes everyday to get it under control.(added the stress coat/conditioner). good to say mine went away in a couple days.

What are your water parameters? When were the tanks set up and cycled? Blooms are often an indication of ammonia presence (readable and not).

By the way, Otos and sparkling gouramis do best in larger groups.
