Hi, Done a full fishless cycle, and tank been up and running about a month since.

Currently got a shoal of platties introduced during that month. Went down to lfs, thinking of next fish to add, maybe, cardinals, corries or red harlequins.

Guy at my lfs, who is usually very helpful and doesn't seem to bullsh*t, recommended that the Cardinals should still not be added for about another two months and the other two for about a month.

I know tetras are normally recommended to be added to mature tanks, does this include a fully cycled one?

Also said neons are a lot more hardy than cardinals, would people say they are a better choice?

Thanks

I'd wait a good two months before adding any Neon or Cardinal Tetras, they really do best in a fully matured tank. I also think Cardinals are more hardy than Neons; they won't get Neon Tetra disease, either!.

yeah a cycled tank isn't the same as a mature one.

if somethings a little delicate leave it 1/2 months after cycling, if it's really delicate leave it 6 months.

but also bear in mind that's 6 months trouble free so if you've had out breaks of disease or water quality issues, then it's 6 months clear and trouble free before adding delicate fish.
