Today i noticed one of my peppered cory's had cotton wool growth on its head:

A lump of it behind his right eye, a growth with spikey bits on the top of his head and a small flatter bit on the other side of his head, and a small growth on the right pectoral fin, and a noticeably larger bit on his left pectoral fin.

For about a week i had been treating the tank with Pimafix and Interpet Anti Internal Bacteria, the last of that treatment coming on, say Tuesday the 25th.

I have treat with the same two treatments today. Is there anything else i can do? I did a water change 2 days ago.

How does this occur?

Will my pepper die? Is there no way itl just fall off if i somehow manage to touch him/it?

Only thing I will say is I wouldnt recommend trying to 'brush' off anything like this, might seem like a simple solution but can cause more harm then good!

Okay.

I hope he isnt going to die, hes the loner one out of my 3 peppers, i rescued him from P@H, well i didnt, but he was in the tank all by himself so i had to get him. Got attached to him, hes darker than any other pepper iv had/seen, and looks cute.

Using the right meds but its not doing much.
I would switch to myxazin and pimafix.
Increase aeration in the tank, and turn temp down for now by two degrees.

Sorry bless him R.I.P.
Water changes on the tank for a few days.

Will do.

Thanks. Damn i was doing good as well since my string of deaths a couple of weeks ago, then this.

How is it cause may i ask?

I do water changes once a week. And i have a battery vac that i use to suck all the mess out regularly between water changes.

Corys are quite prone to bacterial infections, thats why is so important to keep the substate hoovered up once a week, which you are doing.
With are meds in the uk with columnaris best to turn tank temp down as columnaris thriives in warmer temps.

Ok thank you.

My temperature is between 24-25oC at all times. Would you still recommend to turn the temperature down?

Thanks for your answers and recommendations ;)

No I wouldn't alter temp its not high.
I would just do some water changes on the tank for a few days.
Corys I've had them and lost one to popeye, soon as they get a bacterial infection no matter what you do they never seem to get better.
Had them nearly 3 and half years.
Though I knew the interpet anti internal bacteria med would be no good, are bacerial meds are not that strong.

Ok thank you.

Im running low on the Interpet stuff, so il get some Myxazin for future occurances.

Thanks.

Yes used that med myself not bad.
Bacterial infections once you notice them its usually to late, especially with not having excess to stronger meds in this country.
But I can see there point as antibiotics get over used by fish keepers who don't know half the time what they are doing.
