I have a jewel 70ltr tank as my first tank and find it easy to use but is this the best sort of tank to go with or would i be better on getting a tank and then adding all the bits my self when i come to upgrade and give the kids my current one

what are peoples experiances with these prepared tanks good or bad ?

It depends on what you want to keep. In general these "all in one" kind of tanks do a reasonably good job and are neat and compact.

However the equipment is often not as good as stuff you would buy seperatly. The advantage with seperate kit as well is that if something goes wrong its easy to replace.

Personally I would go for a normal tank with an external canister filter and "in-line" heater. That way you do have any equipment in the tank. Might work otu more expensive but the external filter will probably do a much better job then any internal built in one.
