I told my daughter that my angels were "married" since "established breeding pair" was a little over the head of a five year old. But then, angels are very different from bettas. Sheesh! I hate hearing people say they think their betta needs a friend. Bettas are not schooling fish! Some tank mates are ok, if you have room, but they don't NEED it. If you want a bunch of fish to be buddies, buy tetras. There are even some with long flowy fins...

So is explaining it to a child in terms they can understand. It's just funny and/or sad to see adults explain it to others that way. :p
