hi
bought some pennywort ( hydrocotyl leucocephala ) ages ago online & i know its known as a floating plant but i stuck it in the gravel thinking it would be ok. for the first few months it went mad & looked great with lots of new growth but over the past few weeks its started to look very sad the leaves are going yellow & not much is growing. is this because i planted it???? i want to try some more but want to know this time shall i just chuck it in & leav it floating around or fix it to something with a rubber band & leave the root end free??
sorry if this sounds like im a complete idiot  (probably right there) but i want to get it right next time.
anyone got any experience of this stuff???
thanks

Hi MillyM,

I have my pennywort planted and it does just fine!

Do you mean hornwort, which cen be floarting or planted. Hornwort has fine feather leaves, pennywort has medium sized roundish leaves?

Best to plant pennywort, hornwort does matter either way!

Do you add fertilizers to your tank sounds like a mineral deficiency, try adding some fertlizer Tetra Plantmin or API's Leaf Zone are pretty good!
