Is a Penguin 200 too much for a 29 gallon tank. I know they have a smaller model, but I went with the 200 because I liked the extra media slot. Plus, I thought...how much difference could 150 gph be from 200 gph. But now I am concerned that the current is too strong.

Also, the Penguin is a little noisy - splashing sound. Its minor and I suppose its worth it for the bio-wheel. But would an AquaClear be quieter?

I run the AC 50/200's on 4 of my 29's. These are stocked with angels, who aren't supposed to like current. They do just fine with the water flow. I also have a 20 gallon with an AC 50 & a 20. Corys have no problem with this water flow.

They are quiet, as long as you keep the water level up, any hob will be noisy with a lower water level. I heard a Marineland 400, another bio-wheel, running on the tank at the shop. It was much noisier than one of my AC 70's.

Im running 2 penguin 200 on my 36 gallon, yes a bit noisy but i kinda like the sound.
