I have a pair of Pelvicachromis Taeniatus "Bipindi"

Both are gorgeous looking, however currently there is a small problem.

The male is occasionally chasing the female, not continually harrassing her. Just when she gets close to him he has a go. The female is doing her level best to entice him, lots of curling and body shaking. He just seems disinterested, if not a little aggressive.

Is there something I can do to try and get him in the mood?

I have heard a mirror being put in front of the tank might help as he may be fooled into thinking he has a male rival. Could this work?

Try putting a cave in there that has an entrance just big enough for them to gat into. you will not be able to see the spawning but they breed with the privacy.

They've had a coconut shell in there from day one. The male occasionally goes in there but still chases the female whenever she gets too close.
