Pebbels From Garden

Hi
I was looking round the garden today and noticed some rather large pebbels in plant pots. Could i use them if they were put in boiling hot water from the kettle,scrubbed real good,put in boiling water again and then in dechlorinated water?
Theyd look real good in my fire blleid newt tank as they are the sorta ones you see in their natural enviroment

that would be me. unfortunately, i don't think it mentions the garden pebbles you're asking about.

if the pebbel can be identified, then it should be fine... also same goes for if it's acidic or not...
