Sorry about cross posting, but I felt this topic needed its own post.
I just ordered Peat Plates by Hagen from Big Als. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with these before? I have an aquaclear 20 for my 10g aquarium and was only recently (after i ordered) made aware of the custom media bags that allow you to put peat granules into the power filter. Now that I've already ordered the plates, does anyone know how effective they are?
The biggest reason I bought them was for the new German Ram I introduced into the tank. Softer and slightly acidic water is what they love apparently. I live in Vancouver where the water is generally neutral (mine is slightly alkaline because of the substrate) and higher GH.
