I have to have help asap. my pearlscale goldfish was caught in java moss when i got home and i figured she would be fine so i moved her to another tank to giv her some stuff just in case she got something on her like a scratch or something.

she isn't doing well. she is floating at top but i've moved her around carefully and she is starting to move her fins a bit. even if someone thinks a fish is dead i have to keep trying. she is moving all most all of her fins now but still not strong enough to swim or move. i've kept her moving and an air stone near her for air so she doesn't run out of air.

what do i do? she is up there right now trying to move her fins enough to move, we are both desperate!

even the slightest bit of info can help, please help her!!!!!!!

Add some salt for the stress its one tablespoon to 5 gallons.
Hope she makes it bless her.

Yes, the salt will help gill function and stress.
Maybe she just tired herself out trying to get free. Have you removed the moss out the tank?
Is she managing to keep her balance?

i really hope thats all thats wrong. and yes, she is finally starting to balance. she still can't move, but she isn't floating as sideways as she was. i have her in a betta bowl right now with an air pump. i always heard if they don't move there fins or get air in themselves from another way they could die. should i keep her in it? it is keeping her moving her fins, butis this going to help or possibly make it worse?

should i just leave her in the tank she was in? the moss is hidden behind a real thick plant, and she is in another thign right now. i'll remove it before i put her back in.

i put it under the plant because she was floating in there and couldn't get to it. i was in ausch panic i just trhough it out of the way sintead of removing it.

i put some salt in but all i have is uniodized. i heard that can help just as much. will this help or not do anything? i hope to god this salt works because the nearest saltwater salt is about 45 minutes away and my mom wouldn't drive that far to save a fish.

so someone please help me and tell me the chances of her making it!

I would keep her in her old tank and maybe lower the water if possible to about 6 inches so she doesnt have to swim too much.
Leaving her in a small tank will stress her further and ammonia levels will get quite high.
Keep the tank light off and just watch her for now.

ok, thanks for the help. she shouldn't get amonia from being in there because it is water from her old tank. and she is only a couple inches or less long, so it shouldn't of been much stress for the time she was in there.

what are the chances she will make it? :/ *he asked nervously*

Its touch and go to be honest, hope she makes it.
Household salt is fine, what other fish do you have in the tank.

the only other animals in there is snails, and some ghost shrimp. the biggest ghost shrimp in there has eggs and she is fairly old. so i kinda call that shrimp the goldfish's babysitter, lol.

but that tank is all hers. didn't want to cram her. it's also the tank i keep the snail eggs in to hatch. so the babies are born and grow up a bit in a nice tank before they get bigger and go to the adult snail tub.

i really hope she makes it. she is back in her tank. she isn't moving her gills or her mouth but her fins are moving a little. she is alive, but i think she is so tired she can't move. who knows how long she was in that moss. i havent checked her since last night. i woke up, went to school, afterwards i got some ghost shrimp and walmart and came home. there she was, she was just sitting in the moss like she had just given up. just setting there must of gave her a little strength to swim for a few seconds after i got her out.

when i got her out she swam for just a little bit and she started to slow down. i feel so sorry for her.

wish her luck

Shouldn't of added the salt with snails and strimp but it's done now see how it goes.
Good luck bless her.

i've actually breed the snails for several generations in water with quickcure and salt. i found out they can die from that stuff so i decided to try to breed them so they can withstand it. it sounds hard, and id on't know if it's true or luck. but my snails actually don't die from quickcure or salt. it's wierd. i guess i succefully done it. either that or they just made it by luck. i tested it before, accidently. adn they lived. the shrimp, the ghost shrimp can live with salt in the water. most people ahve a little salt in ghost shrimp water.
