Alright so I have 2 Pearl Gouramis and another gourmi (I forget the name, looks just let the pearls, but orange) in a 20 gallon (long). The orange fish is really chasing the 2 pearls. He isn't harming them, but he chasing them, and they spend most of the day hiding, I also have 3 paradise fish in the tank, but they are getting along fine with everyone. Do I need to get rid of the pearls, or couldI try something else like putting more plants in the equirium or....

That is a not a big problem...... just redecorate the tank and add new decorations...or the tank is too small for them try getting them a new tank....good luck :good:

Sounds like a gold gourami - a variant of the 3 spot and opaline gourami - these can be quite boistrous especially towards other gourami- I'd consider rehoming that one.

yeah, i had an opaline and had to rehome due to their aggresive nature, chasing the female around constantly, re-arranging the tank will help, but not for long.

So if I rehome the gold gourami, one of the other fish won't just take its place as the bully?

I don't think so..... pearl gouramis are vey peacefull i'm currently having them in 50 a gallon tank with neons, corys and blue rams. To tell you the truth, I had never seen pearl gourami bullying a fish before. but for the paradise fish, I DON'T know anything about those fishes, I never kept any of those actualy.

Hi rami :)

It's possible that your two pearls are females, which tend to be peaceful, and the other one is a male, which could be much more aggressive. If they are females they will probably remain peaceful.

If your paradise fish are young, they might still cause you trouble when they mature. They are usually more aggressive than the gouramis.
