I have a a pair of pearl gouarmies and one has gone dark orang on its belly, does this mean that they want to start breeding? Should I get a new tank for them? What should i do if they do try to start breeding as i have them in a community tank at the mo.

How long idealy should i cycle a new tank for?

Thanks

1. If you want the fry to survive, that is probably a good idea. I would read up in the fish index on gourami breeding, and then ask questions in the gourami forum to clarify any points. If youh aven't got the grow-out space, might be as well to let nature take its course.

2. For as long as it takes. Until the nitrites have gone and the nitrate reading risen. How are you cycling? With ammonia or with fish? Or are you cloning?
