i was at my lfs and i saw an outstanding peacock mantis shrimp. me and my brother have an extra 15 gallon tank and were wondering if it was okay. i dont think it will work but i just want to make sure before i give it up. If this isnt suitable, what would you recommend for it if it was a reef, and then if it wasnt a reef. thanks so much

paecocks get big, around 6 inches youd need a 20 gallon at least

Yeah, Peacocks are not suited to a 15g. You'd be looking at any Gonadactylus, Gonadactylaceus, Pseudosquilla or Neogonodactylus species at that tank size for a mantis. A G. Smithii, N. Wennerae, and P. Cilliata are all pretty suitable for a 15g. The Smithii is probably the hardest to find, while the Wennerae and Cilliata are more common. All 3 are active and well-known and aquarium-kept mantids.

Dr. Roy's List can really help you with your mantid selection :)
