I was really wanting a bigger cichlid in my 120 gallon but I have fish such as neons and stuff like that in my tank. Is there ANYTHING I can put in there? Like some sort of cichlid?

Keyholes. I've heard that they get to 5" and IME are failures as being cichlids :p They can be skittish but they are very peaceful, and wouldn't really hurt another fish unless breeding. (In a tank as big as yours that wouldn't be a problem) ;)

Yea I really want like 2 keyhole cichlids, but my LFS never carries them. Maybe I will ask them to order them or something. How much do they usually cost do you know?

I've seen them from $3-$15

keyholes or festivums will do the job, but dont miss any feeddings and feed them well, because once i missed out a feeding, the keyholes went for the next best thing....my neons
maybe trade in your neons for Cardinals, basically the same (more red on the belly)and are bigger, so more options for you

I wouldn't put the Severums with neons, cardinals, or any of those smaller and weaker fish. If you are willing to trade them in for more robust tetra's (serpae, black skirt, congo, etc., and/or danios and rasboras, not to mention hatchets, pencils, and other similar types, then you open up your options quite a bit. Keyholes can pretty much go with anything though.

I wanted a gold severum, but I was pretty sure he would eat my neons. I decided I want two keyhole cichlids, but that is if I can actally find them. I looked on aquabid and on liveaquaria, nothing.

I have keyholes and festivums I WOULD NOT put them with neons! Your neons will be gone quickly. They will choose to eat neons before any flake or pellet foods for sure. Angels will eat neons.. I think the only cichlid that will live in harmony with a neon is a Discus and this is a difficult fish to keep and expensive. Festivums get to be 6 inches +, and keyholes around 4 inches.

If your a looking for a fish to house with neons than cichlids are not the answer, especially if you're looking for new world cichlids because most new worlds would come in contact with a fish related to neons and would probally eat them. If you are looking for a new world cichlid you may want to consider getting rid of the neons. If you are really lucky you may be able to add a few juv. angels that are too small to eat neons and have the angels grow up with the neons and keep them well fed the angels may never take a nip at the tetras. Personally I would get rid of the neons (they are pretty much the very bottom of the aquarium food chain) because almost any fish that has a mouth big enough to eat a neon will!
