Peaceful Bettas

???Has anyone every kept 2 female bettas together peacefully???

--easier 3 or more female bettas.

---(this is a stretch)2 male bettas together?

female bettas are community fish and get along fine amoungst themselves... I've personally been able to keep 8 together in a 10gallon tank with no problems...


EDIT---> as for the two male bettas, it is possible depending on the nature of the bettas in question, although it is not advised. Read the freshwater Q&A section in augusts Tropical fish hobbyist. The authour tells of 2 male bettas kept together in a 20gallon tank peacfully although he does not recommend trying it...

i've heard females shouldn't be kept in groups under four. i've never had them so i wouldn't know, just what i've read on here.

If two females flare at each other that doesn't neccesarily mean they don't like each other does it ? (I'm trying to hold on to the little bit of hope that my two females would get along if I put them in my 10 gallon )

i've heard of ppl keeping 3 females ... but never 2... they have a pecking order and if there are only 2 - one is going to get bullied... if there is a large group of them they are able to spread out their bullying... be careful w/ just 2

nope, 2 wont get along. already tried it and one came out beatup you need at least 3
