yeah, my guy gets half, chopped up tiny then smooshed so its smooth, he took a little while to get used too it but really loves it now

i dont know if it benfical its good for treating them when there bloated thought
my male dosent really eat them he will have one bit and them leave it but my female loves them she ripes it to pices and then comes back and eats it

I usually give just half, too. And I, btw, give a pea once a week in place of a regular meal as preventive, basically!

Please do not apologise chrism! I asked the exact same thing when first started but somehow missed the pea thing in my research too. Dont worry and ask all the questions you need, I feed mine peas once a week as it varies the diet, cleans them out and acts a preventative!
