Is it possible to feed too much pea? I know it's good for constipation and my dwarf gourami really likes it now (he hated it to begin with) so I rotate it with the other foods I feed him. Last night I chopped up a few peas and probably put a little too much in my gourami tank, which he shares with five neon tetras and a mystery snail. After he ate, my gourami, Paul, had the HUGEST belly that I've ever seen on him and I went uh oh, maybe I gave him too much. The pig! He is quite a bit smaller this morning which is a relief but I still wonder about it.

Well any food can be dangerous if the fish eats too much simply because they often don't stop when they are full and can damage themselves. This has never been an issue with gouramies for me though I would expect your dwarf just ate as much as it could. It's otherwise fine to feed peas provided you remove any leftovers afterwards so they don't rot (just like any other food) and spoil your water's quality.

Well, he did stop eating on his own so I suppose that's a good sign. There were some leftovers on the bottom last night but I left them for the snail and this morning every last piece was gone. Thanks for the reply.
