As usual they all sound brilliant in the product description but has anyone got any preferences? I noticed pretty early on in my first tank that the right bulb combinations can make such a huge difference, and the only way to find that out is to buy different bulbs and experiment but Id rather not have to spend a fortune this time. Obviously Im looking for something that is a nice crisp white that doesnt give the tank a yellow tinge.

There arent actually many different tubes available. Only options Ive found that sound suitable are:-

Interpet Triplus (unsure of K)
Interpet Daylight Plus (unsure of K)

The ASL ones seem a bit more interesting...

ASL Daylight White : White 7100k
ASL Freshwater Tropical : White 7100k + Pink 8000k
ASL Freshwater Plant : Pink 8000k + Blue 12000k
ASL Freshwater Colour : Pink 8000k

Any ideas?

Thanks, :)
Mark

If you want white them obviously the ASL daylight or the Interpet daylight plus would be your best best.

I've used the Interpet Triplus and Daylight Plus. The Daylight (6500K) is far nicer for colour rendition IMO, the Triplus gives a purple hue. Plants aren't really fussy IME.

If I went ASL I'd choose the 7100K. zig likes these I believe, I trust his judgement. Good for greens I understand, as are the Interpet Daylight Plus.
