Dear all, wasn't sure where to put this, but a few of us trade items etc. here on the forum,

Well it looks like paypal has caught on and now gives the option to accept a charge or let recipient pay, when gifting.

Sucks!

I'd never gift anyway, as there is no way of getting your money back should something go wrong.

they should put £ money limit o it akes buying cheap things like a few plants not worth doing after paying apypal

I would never use paypal for more than 20 quids.. Unless agreed no returns no matter what.

People buy second had stuff and expecting brand new then do a paypal charge back or the goods got damaged in the post and do a charge back.. Paypal is no good for sellers.. Unless buyer must pay as gift.

If I have to use paypal for bigger money get your buyer to agree on no return no refunds in eBay mail. If he do the charge back, there is bailiffs who can and will recover your money at no cost to you.

it only charges if it comes from your bank, i just sent some money over to a family members account with no charge as i had it in my paypal account

That must be recent then , because I've always gifted with no money in the paypal account and never been charged until now.

If your account is direct linked to your current acct you will not be charged

If your sending money from your bank account to someones PayPal account it will charge you.

If you have money in your PayPal account and send it as a Gift you won't be charged. Add money from your bank to PayPal, then Gift it over

Yes, though until that day (and my account is direct linked) it never charged for gifting. now it does.
