Parrot Fish

Hey guys.


ive jus set up my 55 gallon tank and was planning on putting malawi cichlids in there.

well the tanks been up and running now for about a month and i have crushed coral on the bottom and limestone for my rock scaping.

is that ok if i changed and went for a parrot fish ive seen? i kno the PH will be quite high because of that.

jus got bak from the LFS were i was doing some research before i start stocking and i fell in love with a parrot they have there!


also if my tank layout is ok then can i put a severum or maybe 2 in there with him?


if thats not all ok i think ill stick to my malawis but thought id check!

I would wait until the ph is neutral... but uhh you could keep a parrot and severum in a 55g tank.

Yes, I agree with aardvarkfromspace. Just wait for the PH to go down and everything should be fine. Good luck!

And if you get the Parrot and Sevrum you should post some pics!

wont the PH go up and stay that way with the coral and limestone still in there?


guess ill have to test it out.

I guess I should have explained it better..

Take out the rock, and do a few water changes until the ph is close to 7.

think ill stick with my cichlids tank then. jus spent the last month setting it up ya see.....


Parrot fish tank is next on the list tho!
