Parrot Fish And South American Chiclids

Hi guys, new to the site but been keeping fish for many years, so on with the question......just gave me Malawi's to my brother so have an empty tank which is set up again for something different, also have a 2nd tank which has some Key hole chiclids, a Plec and 2 large Parrot fish.
As we all know some South American Chiclids can be a bit of a bully, only my Parrot's keep my Key Holes at bay, no harm ever done to them but do sometimes chase them about, what i want to do is put these in my old larger Malawi tank and also add a few more, looking to get some Jade Eyes, Firemouths, Convicts and others, will these be ok together? kept these before, hasle free (the Jade Eyes breed!) just like to know how the Parrot fish will be with these

Hi, what size is the tank in question?

The Parrots should live fine with firemouths/convicts/sajicas or any similar temperament cichlids, however with that combo the chances of you getting hybrid young is going to be quite high IMO,

Thanks for reply, its a 5ft tank, already set up with rocks etc, i thought as much but nice to hear it from someone else .
Will let the tank run for a week and go looking for the good old South Americans next week...will get some pics on here when all done, thanks again

Running the tank for a week isn't going to cycle it.
