Hi all how do you breed parrot cichlids in a 3ft tank

Parrot Cichlids are, as you know, Hybrid cichlids, meaning they have two different species of fish as parents.

People inter -breed all different types of cichlids eventually resulting in parrot fish,
or they inject hormones into females etc

I don't know if I would try breeding parrots with anything in a 33g/3 foot tank...

BUT.. your best bet would be to try a female parrot with a jellybean parrot male.. that's about the closest you're going to get I would think................

If you have a fertile male you're very lucky, they're quite rare but you're right, they do exist

it's not their looks that determine if its a jelly bean or a blood parrot; it's their parentage... what are the parents of your fry?

theyre jellybean parrot fry.. not parrot cichlid fry.
