Like the title says :D :D :D i have finally got myself some Paretroplus Canarensis, i havent got any photos at the moment though they are photogenic!!

I've been trying to get them into the shop for over a year now and FINALLY got 50 little uns about an inch long, the second they were in the tank, that was it, they were scoffing food scraps and picking at the wood and plants happily, after they were quarantined i took home a group of 6 to go in my Duo Deep 240L with 2 discus and 2 angels...

I adore them!! They shoal and do EVERYTHING together!! They have beautiful pearly white and grey stripes and googly eyes and they all follow me past the tank and come rushing up to the glass to see me :) i'm going to double the numbers to 12, i've got tanks coming out of my ears now, got a lovely 700L tank outside my house that is too heavy for me to lift with a sprained wrist!!

Im glad i finally get a chance to use the internet so i can do some research, i'd like to set up a biotope so if anyone can name me species of fish and plants they would live with in the wild.

If anyone else wants some of these elusive but gorgeous cichlids, Maidenhead Aquatics @ Aylesbury, £7, 3 for £20!!!

Very interesting looking fish, you may have a bit more luck with researching them under the name Etroplus canarensis.

I just thought that the heinous 'splitters' had had their way again  although they really don't fit too well in that genus. I'm still looking for some of these guys (I'm in the U.S.), are yours tank-raised or WC?
