I just picked up a new tank (bargain eBay purchase) but when I collected it the chap handed me a bag of barbs, a molly and some sort of minnow/danio type things that I wasn't expecting!!
I had a spare filter running in one of my other tanks so using 50% water from changes to the other tanks and 50% new water I was able to set the tank up with new substrate & new rocks and house them.
These fish aren't flicking and actually seem lively and are eating well, however I've just noticed they have thick white faeces, this I figure is a big ol' internal parasite.
Have never dealt with parasites before and none of my LFS stock anything for 'internal' parasites I'm kinda stumped ... can you suggest what works and where I can get something in the UK, I read about something called Flubenol but I can't get it anywhere.
I actually want the tank for other fish so these squatters need to be cleaned up before I introduce my healthy fish into the new pad ..... Currently I've raised the temp and am adding Melafix but I want to target the parasites specifically..
My attempts at photos have failed miserably but I'll keep trying.
