Hi there,

Can anyone help me. I have a 3 foot community tank and i have 2 peppered catfish in the tank. One of the catfish has gotten 2 white/cream lumps on him. They are only small and are located close to his gill (but not going in it) and on the top of his head between his eyes. He is still active but not as sociable with his buddy as he normally is. He has had them for a couple of days. I think i might be able to see a black dot on each of the lumps and i'm assuming that this might be the parasite's eye (or I might be just imagining it but i don't think so). Can anyone give me any assistance. Will this kill my fish? What can i treat it with? Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to get a pic up, any signs of the cory flicking and rubbing.
Is the bump soft like filled with fluid or hard looking,

I've tried to take some pics but i can't because he's a real shy fish and the zoom on my camera just comes out a blur. It isn't a hard lump. It sort of looks like the thick white stuff they get on them when they have a fungus although it sort of looks harder than that. I know that doesn't make much sense. It seems to have grown and it looks similar in shape to some kind of worm. I started treating the tank today with a Multi Treatment as i have no idea what it is but there has been no improvement yet and he doesn't look good. I'm sure its grown. Please someone help!!!!

Shape of a worm don't quite understand that.
I would treat it as bacterial, if it looks like it filled with fluid he want's issolating as if its burst in the tank it can infect the other fish.
Good luck.
