Ok, my mature tank has been fine, except hubby doing a filter change last night (rinsing the media and sponges in tank water), and all was well. I did a 30% weekly water change today, and now my fish are gasping!!! Just checked peramaters, and they are as follows:

Ph 7.0
Ammonia 0 ppm
Nitrites 0.5 ppm
Nitrates 20 ppm

I know this is bad, but can I do another water change to soon. I have new stock and nont want to lose any of them!

Are these levels high enough to kill my fish??

Well I have probably got it wrong, but as I did such a large water change today, and the filter was cleaned last night, I have added and emergeny 60ml dose of Sera Nitrivec, and hope that it starts to break it down pretty quickly!!! :(

Increae aeration as well, good luck the tank gone into a mini cycle.

Well, after my panic and adding 60ml Nitrivec, I aerated the water and theft well alone for 24 hours. Just checked peramaters again, and they are much better. The Nitrivec must have worked! :good:

Ph: 7
Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
Nitrate 20-40 ppm

Hopefully this nasty mini-cycle is nearing it's end. I will do another water change again at the weekend.
