Fish Crazy
Quite by chance, my husband discovered the Paradisefish would pop her head out of the water to grab a flake from his fingers. He must have taken too long to stick his fingers under the water with a flake when handfeeding, so she came up instead. Well, how fun was that?!
So he started trying to get her to do it, which she was happy to do for the food, coming quite a way above the surface and grabbing the flake from his fingers. Is this bad to let her do? I'm afraid she will bump her head on his fingers as she hits them pretty hard. She is a solid fish of adult size.
So he quit letting her jump up until we find out, if possible, on the list, if it is okay. The gouramis have never offered to get their bodies out of the water, so we didn't realize the Paradisefish would. She doesn't get real excited over flakes sprinkled in the water, just when he feeds her by hand. Any chance she likes this? She gets real worked up if he hand feeds the gourami on the other side of the tank divider and he watches as sometimes she looks like she might try to get over the divider.
