My Paradisefish was spending a lot of her time not doing anything but laying at the bottom when we weren't around to get her attention. She would eat and she would come to the glass when we came in, but otherwise not much.

So yesterday I went to the LFS and got a Giant Gourami (not a real giant, but the fasciata one). It is a girl since that is all the LFS had. I tried floating her bag in the 10g, but the Paradisefish turned into a Great White Shark circling the bag over and over and flaring her cheeks. The Giant was freaking out trying to get out of her bag, so I moved her to float in the 55g.

On the off chance this would happen, I bought a 10g clear perforated tank divider. Once I got that in and tank rearranged I put the Giant in first on one side then the Paradisefish on her side. She flared and swam at the divider when she saw the Giant. It wanted to come over and see her until she acted that way. There is less of this going on today, but I don't think I would have risked adding the Giant without the divider. The Paradisefish does seem more active today and interested in watching the Giant and just picking at things. Not laying at the bottom or bored acting.

Once I move the Gold from my 20g to the 55g, I will move the Giant to the 20g, then probably put a nice male betta on the other side of the 10g. If I ever figure out how to add pics to posts I'll take some of all the tanks.
