A big tank will help, especially when fully planted. About 4' will be ok, but a 3' could work as well. I havent kept to males together so am not the best to help.

Even in a big tank, they'll seek each other out and fight. You can reduce the risk of them killing each other by putting them in a big, heavily planted tank with a pretty strong current, temperature that's relatively low (about 74 deg F) and then adding lots of other paradisefish as well to spread the aggression out.

IMO, its easier to just put each in his own tank - they'll be fine in a 10 gallon each (no other fish).
