i had to take two paradise fish out of my aquarium because they attacked my other fish (i was mislead by the guy at the aquarium shop). for the past month or so they have been kept in a vase as i didnt know what to do with them.

im thinking of transferring them to a bowl. could anybody suggest what other fish i could safely keep in a bowl with the paradise fish, keeping in mind that they are rather aggressive and that there will no air circulation in the bowl.

what does one do different for keeping fish in a bowl?

I used to have paradise fish. I had one on it's own which was fine, then I got another male and that male turned out to be evil, so eventualyl we had to kill off the evil male as the lfs wouldn't take it back and we had nowhere to put it! After that one got killed off the first one became temporarily evil but then was back to it's normal self. It then got killed by some jewels. Do you have two males (females are drab in comparison to males)?
As for keeping a fish in a bowl, just do 100% water changes every 3-4 days.

I am going to disagree on that last point - I preffer to fully cycle even small bowls just as you would a normal tank. A small sponge filter (or even just gravel) will work well enough as a surface for bacteria to grow on. Having said that, more frequent water changes are still necessary simply because nitrates accumulate faster. I also have to say that putting two paradisefish in a bowl realy isn't a good idea in the long term. What sex are they? Also, I'd think that, having seen what they'll do to other fish in a normal tank, you'd be able to appreciate that putting fish in a bowl with them is a very bad idea. You realy can't keep anything with them - if not simply because the paradisefish will likely attack them just as they did before, because a bowl is too small for 2 paradisefish and other tankmates. Also, of course, the lack of filtration is not something most fish can deal with and you probably won't be including a heater either. Pradisefish are immensely resiliant and will thrive in almost any condition but other aquarium fish simply won't.

thank you...i really dont know what to do with these fish! btw one of them regularly eats the other one's tail...

oh, and i have put some gravel from my tank into the vase and i change the half the water once a day...

You mean one of the paradisefish is aggressive towards the other? You'll need to seperate them immediately then. You can keep one but catch the other and bag it. If you take it back to an LFS (prefferably one that sells paradisefish but it need not necessarily) and say you want to leave it there, they'll usualy accept. Failing that, try advertising in the buy, sell, swap area of this forum - maybe someone living near you is interested - but you'll still need to sort out some kind of temporary accomodation or one of those fish could well end up dead.
