Was thinking of getting a paradise fish/gourami and was wondering if they would be aggressive to its other tankmates. I would be adding one or two probably a female or a female and a male and already have four dwarf gouramis. I've read elsewhere they they were aggressive but was looking for an owners opinion. If anyone one can answer this question or give non included info about the paradise fish/gourami it would be appreciated!!:)

Thankzz!!:)

it depends on the tank size. i'd say absolutely nothing smaller than 40g with that many other gouramis. i'd definitely not get more than one paradise fish.

its my opinion/experience that paradise fish are ok so long as they have about 15g of territory. otherwise, they're bullies of an unusual kind--too tough for smaller fish but too slow for same-sized or bigger fish. it can be difficult to find suitable tankmates.

i've not kept dwarves before, but i hear that they're kind of delicate. i know that the paradise fish is substantially larger than them. i would personally hesitate to mix the two, but its ultimately your call.

I now have two paradise fish and four dwarf gouramis that are fine although this might be a rare thing i do not know. But my tank is very heavily planted and has some rock structures.
