Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior):

I saw my pangasius shark lying in the bottom of the tank and found something similar to a pimple in his skin.. I have no idea what it is, I'm kind of worried.. there's also a decoloration in these "pimples", so far I've found around 4 on his skin: 2 near his dorsal fins, 1 on his side and another one near his mouth.. right now I have him in a quarantine tank.

Today when I fed them, I didn't saw him eating at all.

Volume and Frequency of water changes:

20% or 30% once a week

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): none

Exposure to chemicals: none

Digital photo (include if possible):

I took pictures but they're not easy to see.. hope someone can help me, I'd really appreciate it!!

could be any number of things brought out by stress.

you do realise that pangasius catfish get huge, i mean massive, gigantic, titanic etc.
10 G is way too small for this fish.

Its probably a bacterial infection of some sort, but unless you have an aquarium of pond/lake size, this type of fish will definately get too large for you.

yeah, I know he'll get huge but a relative gave him to me without knowing the real size these animals can get. I already found him a new home in a friends place, but I'm taking care of him until the new tank is cycled, or so my friend said -_- ... I've thought about returning him to the pet shop they got it from if this guy doesn't show up soon, he's still very small but is growing so I don't think I can keep him for a long time.

thx for your help

I am fairly tired of seeing that pangassius picture shown to newbies with the hopes of scaring them. That is a relative of your fish, but pangassius sutchi is probably what you have, which only grows to about three and a half feet. Still definitely a tropical pond fish, but misleading people with the pic of the gigas is dishonest imho

I have to agree with vial there.I usto have 2 pangasius sharks.Although stunted the biggest grew to 14' and was about 7-8 years old. That fish is just a monster

thanx for the info, Vial :) ... he'll be pretty big for my tank anyway :p so I either buy a bigger tank for himself, or find him a suitable home.. hopefully I'll be able to get him a tank, coz he's just so cute

Need a min of a 200gal.If he grows bigger then 2ft then you would need like a 400 gal and so on :fun:

Too small- i wouldn't recommend a tank less than 4ft wide and 12ft long for any fish which can grow to 3ft or more. The fish basically needs a pond, otherwise you'll stunt the fishes growth and send it to an early grave.
