Baby Panda Cory has raggy looking Dorsal Fin now noticed small holes in the fin. Otherwise well, any advise please? I have got Melafix should I use this?

It's bacterial finrot with the holes in the fins, and you will need a bacterial med.

Could you please post your water stats (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH) as well as your tank size and tank mates?

Do the edges of the holes look white and fluffy, black or more clear cut?

No2 = 0
No3= 10
pH = 8.0

ammonia = 0

No edges do not look white or fluffy, just looks like a tiny little raggy hole, also the edges of his fin looks raggy but it always has looked like that, so just thought thats how they looked. But he is so tiny it is hard to see any detail on him.

The tank has already been treated been treated for fin rot while he has been in it but it was about 5 weeks ago, with Interpet Anti Fungus and Finrot number 8. But i have never used Melafix before.

I have Interpet Ani Fungus and Finrot Number 8 and Melafix what would be best?

Thanks

This one would be better if you can issolate the fish, but it will wipe the bacteria out in the filter, as it a stronger med than the others.

Melafix is no good when finrot has progressed.

This is taken from that pet net articles and i agree with it, had finrot alot when i kept guppys.

Important Medication Note
Many Petstores will try to sell you a product called Melafix or Bettafix for the treatment of Fin Rot. In my personal experience, neither of these products (which actually have the same active ingredient, Melaleuca or Tea Tree Oil) will help with the treatment of true Fin Rot. They may help regrow fins damaged by Fin Rot once the bacteria is killed off, but they are not the right type of medication to actually "cure" Fin Rot. Treating with either of these products may stop the advance of the rot, but once you stop treatment it is almost guaranteed to come back. Don't be fooled into purchasing this medication as treatment for Fin Rot, although you can purchase it to use after you've cured the rot and just want something to prevent growing fins from being re-infected. End of lecture!

As I can't isolate him should I use Myxazin then - I don't want to kill off the bacteria in the filter tho - I've only just got things settled again.

No myxazin won't harm the filter, good luck.
