Hi all...

I have a couple of sevs in my tank, ones a gold sev and the other is a red neck, there about 3 to 4 inches long, recently i have noticed that they swim alongside each other and they "shudder" there whole bodies.
Anybody got any ideas on how sev`s behave when pairing up and should i have any concerns over there aggresion should this happen?.

cheers!

sounds like breeding :) could possibly be aggression, is one bigger than the other ?

thanx for the reply....

yep... the red neck is about a third bigger than the gold, the only thing that concerns me about the aggresion is that i allready have a pair of flag festivums in there and i know what chaos they cause when the have a pile of eggs to protect, the last thing i need is more of the same!

have they atall started digging or moving about the gravel?
its practicaly the first thing a pair do, the male will dig a few potential nest sites.

hi all

no there`s no digging of the gravel and there`s no outward sign of any aggresion so i think its maybe like you say a sizing each other up ceremony!!!

i`ll keep my eye on the situation and with a bit of luck it wont get past the "hand bags at dawn" :)

cheers!
