will a pair be alright in a 10 gallon? i might have a few corys in there just to clean up the bottom, but thats pretty much it. in the pinned article, ive seen that it says only 1 can be kept in a 10 gallon, but a lot of people tell me that a pair would be fine. whats the right answer?

Yeah they should be fine. I have kept a pair plus a gourami and some chery barbs in a 10 before. Just plant it so that there is alot of cover in case the male gets too aggressive, but Rams really dont ever hurt anything in my experience at all. I planted my ten gallon so the the plants made a sort of fence through the middle of the tank so that one would be hanging out on either side, and they couldn't see eachother. If they mate up you would have to take the cories out though, or they will chase them endlessly.

I would say no. 10g is not much water at all. Their is a reason that the topic is pinned! (not trying to be mean  ) the only time I have seem rams be agressive is in small tanks.

On other websites it says 20G minimum for ONE german ram. On this it says 10G minimum for ONE, 20G minimum for a PAIR. I have a pair of Bolivians in a 21 gallon and they do like their swimming and hiding places.
