I want to get a pair of cockatoos for my 20gal H. I was thinking of just having a pair and maybe some ottos or a nice plec or something but if anyone has other recommendations please feel free.

I would reccommend getting a trio of cockatoos instead of the pair. The male may harrass the female too much if there is no other female to divert his attention to. Remember that cockatoos use the bottom of the tank more than any other part, so don't fill it up too much with botom dwellers. A small school of tetras would work as well.

Also make sure that there are enough caves for the cockatoos. You will need at least 1 per fish. HTH.

Agreed ;)

That is a great idea but it will have to hold off on a 55gal later on which I think they will appreciate more. I am gonna use the 20gal for betta fry. I will keep that in mind thanks.
