I am planning on painting my room before I set-up my new 20G tank. Just wondering if I could keep my current tank in the room while it is being painted. The tank is a Fluval Uno 600 so has a cover, I will also have a window open.

i have done this a couple of times and found that putting a large peice of tarp, plastic paint sheeting etc works great

i just use the big plastic clear paint sheets, they works a treat, saves the fish getting anything unwanted into the fish tank

Do you have an air pump? If you do you need to turn it off as it will draw in the fumes and poison the water. Use as much ventialtion as possible, fans ect blowing the fumes away from the tank. Your filter will should create enough aggitation on the surface to oxygenatethe water. I am painting my room soon but only with emulsion, i am not sure what you would do if you were using gloss paint as the fumes are much much stronger than emulsion. Maybe some one else will post with information on that. HTH, GRJ :good:

i would of thought that it'd be fine, i'd personally cover the tank with an old sheet or blanket too
