im starting to paint my room 2moro with my 20G in what shall i do to it?

why cant you just cover it with a sheet or something? and move it out of the way slightly when you paint the wall? :/

If your painting your whole room (not just patching uP), I'd deeply suggest moving the tank out of the room.
If you wouldn't sleep in your room right after its been painted, why should your fish? It'll take atleast a full24 hours for the paint to dry, and the fumes go away, if even that short of time.
You need to move those fish outta' there, but if your afriad its going to be too much work, go ahead and risk it.
At one time or another, if you use the blanket Idea, your going to need to remove the blanket to check on them.

im not doing it alll in one day as its quite big, im only doing small sections at a time over the week.

Is it a water based paint? If so, it shouldn't put off too many fumes. I just painted my fishroom last month and, although fish weren't *in* the room, I do have two tanks right outside the door and they were absolutely fine (I didn't cover but I did worry/watch) AND the bettas (air breathers!) moved in that night.

I asked my LFS owner what he thought about it the day I started to paint and he laughed and told me that when he opened the new shop he literally dripped paint into a couple of his tanks by accident and the fish didn't even notice.
*Don't try this at home,kids.
But, that did reassure me that it would be okay.

if you have enough containers to put most of the water from the tank in then i would just move the tank. Empty the water out into the containers until there is only enough water in that tank for the fish to swim around in at the bottom thereby making it light enough to lift. Get someone to help you move it and you don't have to worry about it at all. If you can't do that then i would just cover the tank and paint the room. I have a hard time believing that it will hurt them anyway. But i did move my 10g out of my room before i painted it. Wanted to paint before i upgraded to the 55 gallon.
