I bought a 75 gallon Acrylic Tank from a garage sale the other week. I put some of my small kois in there.

The tank is is painted I think and its in green. Can Anyone tell me a way to take that green paint off. I tried scraping it off but its not rly that affective and if i try to scrape it all off it'll take me a lifetime... I'm afraid I make make a hole or "thin" in the acrylic on accident

Does anybody have a way to take the paint off?

heres the picture of it, I just made a quickie wooden stand, I'm hoping to use it for tropical keeping but I need to take the green off first

Using a paint thinner like turpentine might do it, as long as you work in a well ventilated area, and are very careful not to get any in your tank. I don't personally know whether that would have a negative effect on tha acrylic panels themselves however. I don't think it would, but it very well might somehow effect the acrylic itsself. If you want to see if it will or won't, your local home depo will have cheap acrylic panels that you can get to test on, and they have the paint thinner/turpentine there. I believe that Home Depo cuts it's own acrylics, so mabye they will give you a little chunk for free.
