kinda looks like one, theres so many people buying painted fish because they dont know what they are and its becoming a booming trade somthing we would like to put a stop to.

Weeeel... It looks a bit too even in colour to me but the name implies it is.... Hmmm.

I don't think it is. The term "painted" has been being used in swords and platys for a long time to indicate the black speckles. Neon swords/platys have been around a long time.

That isn't dyed...the picture makes it seem like it is....

I had one identical to that when I first started keeping fish but unfortunately it died during cycling...I never did find another one like her
